James Manders grew up in Aylesbury in the heart of Buckinghamshire England.
He has played guitar from the age of 15. In 1995 he was accepted to study at the Guitar Institute London and then went on to graduate from The London College of Music (LCM) in 1998.
On graduating James's love for Jazz improvisation led him to put together his own quartet. He took the ‘James Manders Latin Jazz band’ to the UK's prime Jazz Clubs and festivals including Jazz Cafe and The Ealing Jazz Festival.
James has also been the resident guitarist for the MAYC Orchestra & Singers. The group performed to audiences in many theaters and arenas up and down the UK such as NIA Birmingham and The Brighton Conference Centre.
In 2003 James worked with Chris Bradford (Burning Candle Music) on a song-writing project and cowrote R n’B song ‘Millionaire’, which was a finalist in the UK Song writing Competition 2003.
Over the last 10 years James has been working with many Artists, Songwriters and musicians including Craig David, The Beauty Room and Mariah Carey, performing on television, radio and gigging all over the UK and Europe.
James recently played guitar on TV with Mariah Carey for her release of ‘Touch My Body’ (April 2008). Performances included T4 Music Special, The Paul O’ Grady Show and The Friday Night Project.
